PRP – CGF

PRP – CGF
PRP is derived from the initials of the English phrase “Platelet Rich Plasma” and means platelet-rich plasma. PRP treatment is a new method that has been increasingly used in the treatment of various diseases in the last few years. Although it was initially used mostly for cosmetic and anti-aging purposes, it has been frequently used in recent times, especially in musculoskeletal diseases. In this method, the drug is prepared from the patient’s own blood. So it’s a natural treatment.

PRP treatment is not a symptom suppression treatment and is a treatment for treating the disease directly.

About 10-20 cc of blood is taken from the patient by vein into tubes containing specially prepared anti-clotting drugs for this job. The blood taken is performed with a special centrifuge process with the tube. This process takes about 10 minutes. After the centrifugal process, the cells of the blood other than platelets collapse into the bottom of the tube. It has a yellow plasma fluid rich in platelets. At the bottom of this remaining fluid has a section of about 2 cc where platelets are even more dense. Thanks to the special system, plasma injection, which has approximately 1 million platelet cells per millimeter, is drawn to the injector. After this stage, it is applied to the desired region with the appropriate technique.

It is administered by injection method of 1-3 ml, once or at regular intervals, depending on the area to be treated. Knee calcificationis is applied three times a month apart into the knee joint. In cases such as tennis elbow, Achilles tendon, shoulder tendon tearing, 2 injections are usually administered one month apart.

FOR WHICH DISEASE IS PRP USED?

Knee calcifications
Damage to the knee cartilage (MENISCUS)
Avascular Necrosis
Heel thorn
Tennis elbow, golfer elbow
Shoulder tendon rheumatism and tears

When does the healing effect of PRP treatment begin?

Within a few weeks of injection, the process begins and the healing process continues between 3 months and 12 months. Therefore, there is no rapid decrease in pain as in cortisone injections after PRP injections. The pain gradually decreases and passes through months.
