It is congenital deficiency in any of these attributes that can reduce the utility of the reconstructed thumb. The aim of thumb reconstruction is to provide an opposable thumb capable of key pinch and grip, which is pain free, mobile, sensate, and aesthetic in appearance.

WHAT ARE THE STEPS FOR APPLICATION ?
It begins with a suspicious pain in the palm of the hand or on the pedestal of the thumb. Over time, especially in the morning, the finger starts to reduce mobility, but after a while it gets back on track. With the progression of the disease, the stumbling becomes apparent and painful. The thumb gets stuckin a bent position. It cannot be opened by force and creates pain.

Cortisone injection into the palm in the early stages is beneficial. In advanced stages, treatment is performed by surgery. It is performed with an incision of approximately 1.5 cm through the palm with regional anesthesia. The patient is discharged on the day of surgery.
