Tissue Expansion

WHAT IS TISSUE EXPANSION ?
Tissue expansion is a fairly simple process that allows the body to create excess skin for reconstruction in any area of the body.

WHAT ARE THE STEPS FOR THE APPLICATION ?

Tissue expansion is done by isotonic inflating balloons of various shapes and volumes, which are mostly placed under the skin. A small chamber called the port connected to the balloon is placed under the skin so that it can be easily noticed again. Isotonic is started to be given from the port some time after the operation. The skin begins to expand at certain intervals, for example, by the silicone balloon which is slowly inflated with isotonic injected once or twice a week. When enough tissue expansion is achieved, surgery is performed again, the balloon is removed and the expanded skin is used in the area to be repaired. In this method, much attention should be paid during inflation. Otherwise, the stitches may open or inflammation may develop.

WHAT ARE THE AREAS FOR THE APPLICATION ?

This is applied to the head area.
